life has a way of being wonderful, but all too busy and before you know it, your precious little baby is about to start kindergarten. Then, you blink and that sweet little kindergartner is about to go to high school. Then that "sometimes sweet" teenager is off to college. don't let all of that time slip by without getting some pictures of their childhood. of your family. Photos are so important... especially when they start spreading their wings and building their own families. so, make sure to book your family session today. Here are a few helpful tips to prepare...

1. clothing. Don't start off on a stressful note. clothing choices are definitely important, but i've learned with my own stubborn teenagers that if they're there, that's what matters most. if you put too much pressure on things, you are going to see that in their expressions. and what's more important? happy kids or cute clothes. i suggest coming up with a color scheme and letting them help in the process. what do they feel comfortable in? that's what's going to make them relax on picture day. I do try to encourage no logos or crazy prints that are going to take away from the family, but other than that let them help in the decision making process.
2. location. this can be fun or stressful, so why not make it fun? if you're on the fence or clueless about the perfect location for your family pictures just ask. that's what I'm here for. I've shot at over 50 locations over the years so i definitely have a few great ones to recommend for you. if you don't know the perfect spot, ask for ideas and i'll be happy to help.
3. bribe if you need to. this is a personal choice of course, but definitely keep that in your back pocket for kids or husbands ;) who are dreading picture day. you'd be surprised at how cooperative they instantly become.
